Fairfield VFD asked, and WE RESPONDED!
Cy-Fair CERT Participates in Live Training Drill with Station #7 in Fairfield!
On Thursday, March 1, Cy-Fair CERT was invited to assist the Fairfield VFD with a live (and unannounced) drill with their firefighters.
Our team provided the moulage with realistic injuries to 4 adults and 1 child in a staged 2 car, 1 motorcycle accident in front of the park in Fairfield.
CERT volunteers acted as victims, provided traffic control, and filmed the event for station training. Only the families on the street involved in the incident were aware this was a drill, so our traffic control training was invaluable as the rest of the neighborhood was not aware this "accident" scene was only for training. The best part was the firefighters were not told in advance that this was a drill and only realized it as they arrived. One of the victims, by the way, was the fire chief's wife, who had to be extricated from her car. This was an exciting drill for Cy-Fair CERT and the closest thing to a realistic event many of us have experienced!
